STARTING A DRUKHARI ARMY IN 11TH EDITION: YOUR FIRST THREE BOXES
The Drukhari are the raiders of Commorragh: fast, cruel, paper-thin, and dead if you look at them sternly. This page covers the whole start of a Drukhari collection in three boxes, plus what to leave until those are built.
Box one: Archon, Kabalites, Raider
The current Combat Patrol is the right first purchase. You typically get an Archon or similar leader, a squad of Kabalite Warriors, and a Raider to carry them. That trio is the heart of the army, and buying it together costs less than piecing it out. It also settles your palette early: dark armour panels, jagged blades, and skimmers that beg for glowing edge highlights.
Box two: Wyches and a second Raider
Kabalites shoot; Wyches fight. Adding a unit of these arena gladiators, ideally with another Raider to deliver them, gives your force its second dimension and teaches the faction's real skill: arriving exactly where you meant to, exactly when it hurts most. Two transports full of troops already reads as a Drukhari army, and it is where the faction becomes one of the most exhilarating to play.
Box three: a Ravager
The Ravager gunboat is the classic Drukhari heavy hitter and a strong early centrepiece. It shares the Raider's elegant hull, bristles with dark lances, and paints quickly once you have done its smaller sibling. The range has flyers and monsters for later; the Ravager earns its slot before any of them.
Incubi and beasts come later
Resist the mercenary and cult units, Incubi, beasts and the stranger corners of Commorragh, until the core three boxes are built. They are seasoning on an army that does not exist yet. The same goes for duplicate characters.
Grading the spoils
Drukhari armies grow fast because the boxes are moreish. Track them as they arrive and grade each one by what is true: still on sprue, assembled, or painted. An accurate tally motivates better than a half-remembered pile. The full unit list and background are on the Drukhari faction page under Data.
